Ridgecrest Burroughs 14, Saugus 12--Trailing, 14-0, midway through the second quarter, Saugus rallied for two touchdowns, but came up short after missing an extra point and a two-point conversion at College of the Canyons.
Saugus running back Shane Anderson, who had 11 carries for 49 yards, scored on a seven-yard run with a minute left before halftime and quarterback Jason Bobby connected with Rob Davidson on a seven-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.
Saugus (1-5, 0-1) drove to the Burroughs 40-yard line with less than a minute to play, but Burroughs (3-3, 1-0) took over on downs.
