Texas Instruments Unveils Laptop Computer: TI joined competitors who have introduced lightweight laptop computers featuring Intel’s increasingly popular 386SX microprocessor. The new notebook-size computer, called Travelmate 3000, costs less than one with a similar chip announced two weeks ago by Compaq Computer. The Texas Instruments machine has less memory than Compaq’s LTE386s-20, but, at 5.7 pounds, it is lighter and has a bigger screen.
