CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE : Team to Rule on Accreditation
- Share via
A team of investigators from the Western Assn. of Schools and Colleges will be on the Cal State Northridge campus Tuesday through Friday to make a final determination regarding the university’s accreditation.
The visit concludes a two-year process in which CSUN’s committee on accreditation examined every aspect of campus life, culminating with a report sent to the association in September.
Every 10 years, member institutions must undergo an exhaustive self-study to renew accreditation--an independent examination of a school’s goals, quality and performance.
On Thursday, the 19 association members on the investigating team at CSUN will hold open meetings for students, faculty and staff to hear complaints and compliments.
The team’s visit will provide feedback for the university, according to Margaret Fieweger, CSUN’s associate vice president for academic programs
The team has the authority to withhold reaccreditation approval.
