Pasadena : Swap Meet Ruling Appeal

A Los Angeles Superior Court decision ordering the city to allow businessman Paul Cho to proceed with a swap-meet styled store in Northwest Pasadena will be appealed.
City Directors met in closed session Tuesday and decided not to issue a certificate of occupancy as ordered in last month’s court ruling.
Cho, who also owns the Inglewood Department Store, sought to establish a similar store with 38 vendors at 625 N. Fair Oaks Ave. He had obtained building permits to proceed with his Fair Oaks Department Store, but the Board of Directors nixed his plans, saying the store was inappropriate for the Fair Oaks Redevelopment Project.
