Pasadena : Art Funding Expanded
All commercial and industrial projects larger than 25,000 square feet will have to commit 1% of costs to public art under an expansion of the city’s art program approved Tuesday by the Board of Directors.
Although the city has had a public art requirement since 1988, it applied only to developments in the Downtown and Old Pasadena redevelopment zones and to major projects needing use permits.
The new regulations exempt only projects in the Northwest Enterprise Zone, those under a joint development agreement with the city and those already approved.
