Two Temblors Hit Castaic Area; No Injuries Reported

A small earthquake and a smaller foreshock shook northern Los Angeles County near Castaic on Saturday morning, but there were no reports of damage or injuries.
The 3.3-magnitude temblor hit at 6:34 a.m., Caltech Seismology Laboratory spokesman Hall Daily said in Pasadena. The epicenter was five miles west of Castaic, north of Magic Mountain amusement park.
A smaller quake, described as a foreshock measuring 2.5, was reported at 5:25 a.m., Daily said.
Most residents apparently slept through the temblors. The Santa Clarita sheriff’s station reported no calls, though several residents telephoned local radio stations to ask about the shaker.
