COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Rally in Second Half Gives SCC Victory Over Christian Heritage

Southern California College broke open a close game in the second half and defeated Christian Heritage, 85-59, in a nonconference men’s basketball game at SCC.

Brian Moore scored 15 points, Mike Henjum 13 and Jeff Bickmore 12 for the Vanguards (7-2) in a rematch of last year’s NAIA District 3 championship game.

Vernaldo Butler scored 25 points for Christian Heritage (2-6).

In the Christ College Irvine men’s basketball tournament:

Redlands 87, Christ College Irvine 84 (OT)--Jaime McShan missed a three-point shot in the last seconds of overtime. Corey Smith had tied the score, 77-77, with a three-pointer with 13 seconds left in regulation play. Keith Rogers scored 22 for CCI (1-7).

In a nonconference women’s basketball game:

Wayland Baptist 72, Chapman 67--Christie Ramos scored 18 points to lead Wayland Baptist, the sixth-ranked NAIA team in the nation. Lindy Kirby had 13 points for the host Panthers (5-3).
