OJAI : Anti-War Rally Planned Today

Ojai merchants, church leaders, schoolchildren and environmentalists are expected to gather today for an anti-war rally in Libbey Park.
Songs and speeches urging peace in the Mideast will begin at noon, event organizers said.
“There’s no particular organization behind it. It’s kind of a grass-roots thing,” said Lilly Barthelemy, owner of Serendipity Toys in Ojai and a former Vietnam War protester.
Bill Noack, a former Ojai bookstore owner, said the idea for the rally came from several business people, but other individuals and groups are passing out flyers and alerting their members to participate.
