Killing of Homeless Man

Your caption “Fatal Shooting in Altadena” (Metro, Nov. 14) should have read “Three Deputy Sheriffs Pass Death Penalty on Transient With Crowbar.” Well, maybe that is a little too harsh. How about “Deputy Sheriffs Help Cure Problem of the Homeless.”
Is murder really necessary in this situation?
