Sewage Spill Shuts Parts of Mission Bay

Signs warning of contamination have been posted at two locations on Mission Bay after a sewage spill, health officials said Monday.
About 36,000 gallons of sewage flowed from a manhole near Soledad Mountain and Crownhill roads into a storm drain and then into the bay over a four-hour period, beginning about 9:15 a.m. Saturday. Rocks filling the manhole caused the overflow, officials said.
Warning signs have been posted along the Rose Creek inlet (just east of where the inlet joins the bay) and along the northeast portion of Crown Point Shores.
