San Diego police were searching for a bandit armed with a pistol who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank branch in the 400 block of San Ysidro Boulevard of more than $5,000 Monday afternoon.
The robber was described as a 5-foot-11, 200 pound Latino aged 24 to 30 with slick back hair and a mustache. Police said the bandit had a handgun tucked in his waistband.
Police spokesman Bill Robinson said the robber was let into the merchant’s cage, where business customers make large deposits. He asked for large bills and fled the bank on foot.
Robinson said a bank teller believed he was the same person who robbed the bank a month ago.
