VENTURA : State Revokes Child-Care License
- Share via
The State Department of Health Sevices has revoked the license of a Ventura child-care center after allegations that the woman who ran the center stole prescription medicine from her clients.
The department announced this week that it had revoked the license of Theresa and Terry Gates for the center they operated on the 8600 block of Wellington Street after receiving complaints that Theresa Gates stole medication from three women whose children were in Gates’ care.
Attorney Joan Phillips, who headed the investigation, said the license revocation was imposed by default when the Gates failed to respond to the complaint filed in November. The couple will be eligible to apply for another license in two years, Phillips said.
Neither Theresa nor Terry Gates could be reached for comment.
