U.S. Routs France at Water Polo Meet

PERTH, Australia — The U.S. water polo team has earned a second-round berth at the world championships with a 13-3 victory over France Sunday.
The French trailed, 8-0, after the first two quarters and never recovered.
With the victory over the Canadians in their other first-round match, the United States has won a spot in the second round, whatever the outcome of its next first-round match, against Australia today.
