A Thousand Oaks teen-ager riding in a car with friends Monday had his arm broken by a bullet fired from the gun of a suspected rival gang member, authorities said.
The 17-year-old, whom police would not identify because of his age, was one of five people in the car, which was pulling out of an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Montijo said.
“Five or six males approached their car on foot,” Montijo said. “One of them had a handgun and fired it into the car. It struck the victim in the upper right arm, breaking the bone.”
Montijo said the boy was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center. The suspects are still at large.
