Woman Struck by Car, Killed in Pacoima

An unidentified woman was fatally injured Tuesday afternoon when she was struck by a car while crossing a street in Pacoima, Los Angeles police said.
The woman, who was believed to be about 30, died two hours later of massive head injuries at Holy Cross Medical Center, Officer Dave Lowental said.
Police said the woman was walking north on Van Nuys Boulevard and crossing to Pala Avenue about 2:30 p.m. when she was struck by a car traveling east driven by Manuel Segura, 52, of San Fernando. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
