Long Beach : Executive of Agency Serving Gays Quits After 7 Months
- Share via
Ron Hoover, executive administrator of One in Long Beach Inc., the city’s largest social service agency for homosexuals, has resigned after seven months in that position because of disagreements with the board of directors over how the agency should be run.
“It’s philosophical,” said Norm Reed, board president. “The board is committed to operating 16 committees to take input from the community on everything from funding to programmatic issues. I think Ron was more inclined to administratively deal with those issues.”
Hoover could not be reached for comment.
His resignation comes just a year after a squabble over finances led to the resignation of former executive administrator Judith M. Doyle.
