Thank you so much for the article (“Nature Gets Top Billing in Yucatan’s Sian Ka’an” by Jon Stewart, Aug. 26). The tour was the highlight of our Thanksgiving holiday. This was truly an opportunity to see a non-commercial Mexico. What a relief to pass by Tulum, crowded ruin-to-ruin with tourists and T-shirt shops. Sian Ka’an is truly a paradise and hopefully the private foundation Amigos de Sian Ka’an will be successful in protecting this area. Also, we were doubly blessed during our day, the migratory birds were just arriving for nesting, what a colorful sight!
