SIMI VALLEY : Man, 24, Killed in Run Across Freeway

A 24-year-old Bell Gardens man was fatally injured when he crossed the freeway in Simi Valley and was hit by a car, authorities said Thursday.
Ray Moreno, 24, was taken to Simi Valley Adventist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, a spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol said.
Moreno’s vehicle became disabled as he was traveling east on the Simi Valley Freeway near Yosemite Avenue about 11:55 p.m., the spokeswoman said.
He tried to run across the road and was hit by a westbound car driven by Robert Powell, 27, of Simi Valley, she said.
