SAN CLEMENTE : Trash Collection Rates Increased

Trash collection rates will rise slightly starting today under annual price hikes recently approved by the City Council.
The increase, which excludes a $2.55 fee for hauling garbage to the local dump, raises the city’s monthly household trash rate from $7.57 to $7.84. Commercial trash collection rates were raised 6.6% to reflect an increase in the consumer price index, according to a report from city finance director Dean A. Porter. Commercial rates vary according to the amount of trash hauled away each month and the type of business.
City residents and businesses are served by San Clemente Commercial Inc., which also runs the city’s pilot curbside recycling program.
