People Sought for School Panel
The Torrance Unified School District is seeking people to serve on a committee to develop long-term plans for the district’s buildings.
The committee will look at a variety of issues affecting school use and report back to the school board in December.
The study grew out of board discussions this winter over whether to add portable classrooms at two of the district’s middle schools, said board President David Sargent. The board decided that it needs a better understanding of enrollment projections, school size, demographics and related issues, Sargent said.
A similar committee examined Torrance school use in the early 1980s.
