Sponsors of the California Raisin Bowl in Fresno may try to end its annual college football matchup between the Mid-American and Big West conferences within a few years and switch to an open-ended arrangement for at least one spot, executive director Neale Stoner said.
The Big West probably will send its champion to the game as long as Fresno State remains a member. But there has been talk of the Bulldogs switching to the Western Athletic Conference.
