Jury selection began in Malibu Municipal Court for the trial of Pepperdine basketball player Mark Georgeson, who faces a charge of one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence.
Georgeson, 21, was involved in a collision on a Malibu Canyon road Feb. 15, 1990 that a few days later resulted in the death of the other driver, Parkie Singh, 52, of Malibu. The maximum penalty is one year in the county jail.
