Fiorini Denies MGM-Pathe Is for Sale: The co-chairman of MGM-Pathe Communications, Florio Fiorini, issued a statement “categorically” denying a report in the latest issue of the Italian magazine L’Espresso that he intends to sell MGM-Pathe, perhaps to affiliates of Italian media magnate Silvio Berlusconi. According to the Milan-based weekly, Fiorini said in an interview that he had told MGM-Pathe Co-Chairman Giancarlo Parretti “of my decision to put MGM on the market,” adding that “I believe we should get out of MGM as soon as possible.” In his denial, Fiorini said he “emphatically states that the entire article was invented” and he “never gave the interview.”
