Cerritos : Officials Prepare for Rush of Appeals on Water Limits
- Share via
Officials are preparing for a rush of requests from Cerritos residents seeking exemptions from the city’s water rationing requirements now that the City Council has approved an appeal process.
Water customers who have been denied more than the 375-gallon allotment of water a day may submit written appeals to the city’s five-member Property Preservation Commission.
The city has received about 50 complaints and requests for appeal since February, when the council mandated water rationing, Water Supt. Ron Babel said. He is anticipating more appeals, he said, when customers that have used more than their allotment begin receiving 1.5% penalties on their May water bills.
