HUNTINGTON BEACH — A motorcyclist was in extremely critical condition Wednesday after striking the side of a car that had pulled out of a parking lot in front of him, police said.
The unidentified victim, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered severe head and internal injuries in the 7 p.m. accident near the intersection of Warner Avenue and Springdale Street. He was flown by helicopter to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Police said the driver of a 1987 Ford Taurus pulled out of the lot at a fast food restaurant and into the path of the motorcyclist, who was eastbound on Warner Avenue.
No citations were issued pending an investigation into the accident, police said.
