Fairfax District : Bank Remodeling Begins
- Share via
Workers have gutted the Wells Fargo Bank branch at Beverly Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue to install methane detectors and remodel the interior, a spokeswoman for the financial institution said.
The building was the site of a methane scare last December, but city officials said that the persistent gassy odors apparently came from gasoline in the ground underneath a filling station next door.
The bank has been operating from a temporary building since early this year. Kathy Shilkret, a spokeswoman for the bank, said that plans call for the main building to reopen May 6.
