The geneticist was awed by the view from Crystal Cove State Park, and even more awed by the prices at that temple of capitalist consumerism, South Coast Plaza. Especially shocking was the $55 price tag of Nordstrom’s mid-range formal shirt. A friend came to the rescue and bought it.
