Candy Maldonado, who won a starting job in the Milwaukee Brewer outfield after being invited to spring training as a non-roster player, was put on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with a fractured foot.
Maldonado injured the foot in the first inning of Wednesday night’s game against Texas as he rounded first base after hitting a two-run double, his first hit as a Brewer.
A Brewer spokesman said Maldonado will be out three to four weeks.
