IRS Puts Lien on Erhard: The IRS has slapped a $6.7-million lien on the personal property of Werner Erhard, the pop psychology guru and founder of the self-assertion philosophy known as est. The lien was filed Tuesday and includes property in New York and California. Erhard owes back taxes, penalties and interest of $6.9 million for the years 1981, 1982 and 1983, according to IRS spokesman John Dearing. It brings Erhard’s tax liabilities to $20.9 million in California. A lien of $14 million was filed last month against Erhard and one of his businesses for 1986, according to another IRS spokesman.
