Huntington Beach Home Fire Causes $350,000 in Damage

HUNTINGTON BEACH — A Huntington Beach home was gutted in a mid-afternoon blaze Friday that started in the garage, fire officials said.
More than 30 firefighters from Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Westminster and Seal Beach responded to a call about 1:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Gilbert Drive, officials said. The fire took about 20 minutes to control and caused about $250,000 damage, officials said.
No one was home at the time.
One firefighter was injured, suffering second-degree burns on his left forearm.
Damages to the contents in the house were estimated at about $100,000, officials said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
