VENTURA : Planner Ends Long Tenure on Board

Longtime Ventura Planning Commission member Gary Pihlaja has stepped down after almost 12 years on the board.
Pihlaja’s term ended in December, but he remained until his replacement was appointed. He was a past chairman of the seven-member panel.
Chuck Thomas, an air quality specialist with the county Air Pollution Control District was appointed to the position by the City Council on May 6.
Planning Commission members are paid $25 per meeting.
