Moorpark Trio Make All-State Softball Team

Three Moorpark College softball players were chosen to the All-State team by the California Community College Coaches Assn.
Sophomore outfielder Tami Harp, freshman utility player Gina Skinner and sophomore infielder Annette Bell were first-team selections.
Kim White, Cal Lutheran’s senior shortstop, has been invited to a tryout in Columbia, Mo., this weekend for the Pan American Games team.
White, CLU’s all-time hits leader with 204, will attempt to win one of five available roster positions for infielders and outfielders. The Pan American Games will be played in August in Havana.
Five Antelope Valley College softball players were named to the All-Foothill Conference team. Pitcher Angie LePage, catcher Carla Martell, infielders Betsy Lund and Carrie Ryan and outfielder Pam Craycraft were first-team selections.
Cal Lutheran track team members Dena Pierce and Tania Love have been chosen by the NAIA to represent the university on a team of NAIA athletes that will compete June 8-9 in Australia.
Love broke the school record in the 100 meters last weekend with a time of 12.51 seconds, and Pierce, a distance runner, qualified for the NAIA marathon championships.
Ryan Seidel, a Westlake High second baseman, has signed a letter of intent to attend Southern California College in Costa Mesa in the fall.
Seidel, 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, batted .263 this past season but nearly .400 in Marmonte League play.
The Gus Macker 3-on-3 Charity Basketball tournament will be held at the Valencia Industrial Center, adjacent to Six Flags Magic Mountain, on Saturday and Sunday.
