ON THE SCREEN: T. Jefferson Parker’s newest book, “Pacific Beat,” may be darker than his first two because of tragedies in his life (E1), but it hasn’t scared off Hollywood. Parker’s first work, “Laguna Heat,” was made into a TV movie starring Harry Hamlin, one of the leads of “L.A. Law.” . . . The producer of that movie, Jay Weston, has optioned Parker’s latest too. . . . And the writer’s second work, “Little Saigon,” is still under option to another production company.
