Dr. Kenneth W. Kizer, director of the California Department of Health Services, will take a job in private industry as president of Ecologics Inc., a new international environmental consulting firm to be based in California.
Kizer joined the department in August, 1984, becoming director in March, 1985. He is credited with developing the world’s largest population-based cancer registry, the largest birth defects monitoring program, the most comprehensive AIDS program in the country and an aggressive anti-smoking campaign.
