OJAI : Homework Hot Line Keeps Students Busy
- Share via
When a Matilija Junior High student tells his parent he has no homework, he had better be telling the truth.
All the parent has to do is dial the Homework Hotline at 640-4394 to find out.
Since the system was installed in January, it has logged 20,000 phone calls, averaging about 250 a day.
The hot line lists homework assignments; PTA, athletic and club events; counseling tips, and a message from Principal James Berube.
Matilija is the second school in the state and the 31st in the country to use the system.
Summit Elementary School began using the hot line two months ago, but finances may limit further expansion, Berube said.
