A 23-year-old man was in critical condition after his motorcycle was struck in a hit-and-run accident Thursday morning, San Diego police said.
Martin Gonzales, address unknown, was injured when a van made a left turn across his path as he traveled on Otay Mesa Road about a mile east of Interstate 805, Sgt. Mike Gibbs said.
Gonzales suffered a fractured right femur and internal injuries in the accident, which occurred at about 6:51 a.m. He was taken to Mercy Hospital.
The driver and occupants of the van fled on foot, Gibbs said.
