WELL-TRAVELED: Among the 3,580 students graduating at UC Irvine on Saturday will be Thien Vu, a biological sciences major with a 4.0 gpa. That’s the highest of any undergraduate, and Vu, 21, of Fountain Valley, earned his degree in just three years. . . . He still found time to serve as a volunteer translator for Southeast Asian patients at a Santa Ana clinic. After attending first grade in Vietnam, second grade in Malaysia and third grade in Germany, medical school will be relatively close to home: he plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania.
