Temple City : Lighting, Maintenance Fees
Residents will see fees for the citywide Lighting and Maintenance District jump as much as 700% to help pay for the 1991-92 city budget.
Residents now paying $3.50 or $11.50 will pay $28.88 a year. Commercial property owners now paying 64 cents per frontage foot will pay $2.02 per foot.
The City Council on Tuesday adopted a combined 1991-92 city/Community Redevelopment Agency budget of $10.4 million, up from $8.4 million for 1990-91. Higher capital expenditures and higher law enforcement costs are the main reasons for the increase, Financial Services Director Francine Maldonado said.
The city budget alone is $7.5 million for 1991-92, compared to $6 million last year, and the redevelopment budget is $2.9 million, compared to $2.4 million last year. The larger redevelopment budget is due mainly to land purchases, Maldonado said.
