A man was shot and killed by a police officer Thursday evening, San Diego police said.
The shooting occurred in the 1600 block of Enero Street after police were summoned to quell a family disturbance, police said.
The victim, whose name and age had not been released late Thursday night, was believed to have been carrying a weapon, police said. He was shot about 7 p.m., they said.
After police arrived at the Otay Mesa address, the victim lunged at the officers, police said. Police declined to elaborate on the case Thursday evening, saying a news release would be issued by the homicide department, which is investigating.
