Two armed men barged into a Moorpark convenience store Thursday, demanded cash and then fired a shot at the store clerk’s feet, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department said.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred at 4 p.m. in the Circle K store at 256 W. Los Angeles Ave. But at least one shot was fired in an apparent attempt to ensure the employee’s compliance, Sgt. Bruce Watlington said.
“The suspects forced the clerk to open the register at gunpoint and then blasted a hole in the floor for good measure,” he said.
They fled in a stolen car with a third suspect and an undisclosed amount of cash, Watlington said.
The car was discovered in an alley about a mile from the store, he said.
