More than 10,000 local high school athletes are expected to participate in the event, sponsored by the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce.

The finals in most sports will be held next weekend at El Camino College.
The L.A. Watts Games were developed as a response to the 1965 Watts Riots, to give young athletes of varying ethnic backgrounds an opportunity to compete together.
