Hatch to Replace Heinz on Senate Finance Committee

WASHINGTON — Sen. Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah) has been chosen to fill the vacancy on the Senate Finance Committee caused by the death of Sen. John Heinz (R-Pa.). The GOP leadership selected Hatch from among several lawmakers who sought the post. Heinz was killed in April when the small plane he was traveling in collided with a helicopter.
