Five Volleyball Players Commit to Irvine Valley

IRVINE — The Irvine Valley College men’s volleyball team, preparing for its first season of intercollegiate play, has received commitments from five Orange County players, Coach Tom Pestolesi said Wednesday.

Three of the players--Eric Olson, a setter from Capistrano Valley High; Brian Godshaw, a middle blocker from Capistrano Valley and Zoltan Csanyi, an outside hitter from University--played in the Orange County high school all-star game.

The others are outside hitter Billy Nguyen, who played basketball and volleyball at Newport Harbor during the 1989-90 school year, and middle blocker Randy Gilbert of Woodbridge.
