Pros and Cons of Fancy Names for Streets
I read with interest the City Hall Roundup (Times, Aug. 11) article about the fancy street names (Aida, Othello, La Traviata) for a new Torrance housing development. I have long maintained (half in jest) that a fancy street name, rather than a numbered street, adds about 10% to the value of a house. But obviously, a numbered street is much easier to locate than a fancy street name.
