Disney, Paramount Team Up: Walt Disney Studios and Paramount Pictures will join forces for their first motion picture co-production in more than a decade when shooting begins in January on the movie version of Paul Piers Read’s 1974 best-selling novel, “Alive.” The studios will co-finance the picture, and Disney’s Touchstone Pictures banner will oversee the production. “Alive” is based on a real-life ordeal faced by members of a South American rugby team who survived two months in the wilderness after their plane crashed in the Andes Mountains.
