Ryan Connors completed 22 of 42 passes for 387 yards and four touchdowns to lead Newhall Hart to a 32-27 victory over Canyon Country Canyon. Ed Williams, a sophomore running back for Canyon, rushed for 204 yards in 26 carries in his first varsity game.

* Billy Blanton completed 13 of 21 passes for 318 yards and three touchdowns in Mater Dei’s 27-21 victory over Capistrano Valley.

* Christian Moore of Westminster High rushed for 180 yards in 14 carries and scored twice in the Lions’ 27-7 victory over La Quinta.

* Cory Brown of Thousand Oaks rushed 18 times for 182 yards and scored two touchdowns, one on an 85-yard run on the Lancers’ first possession of the second half, in a 35-9 victory over Saugus.

* Anton Villanueva of Santa Margarita rushed for 168 yards in six carries, but Santa Margarita lost to Rancho Bernardo, 37-23. Villanueva had scoring runs of 75 yards and 32 yards.
