HOT ART: Laguna Niguel abstract artist Paul Ecke is having a hot summer. . . . In July, singer Dionne Warwick bought one of his multimedia paintings. The upcoming issue of International Fine Art Collector Magazine features a six-page spread on Ecke, a distant relative of Paul Ecke Sr., the late San Diego nurseryman who developed the poinsettia. . . . “He’s quite an aspiring young artist, and he’s really gone gangbusters lately,” says Laguna Beach gallery owner William Merrill.
