I read with astonishment an article (Metro, Sept. 2) that said an officer had a tattoo of a Viking on his ankle. I am offended and appalled at Sheriff Sherman Block, who was quoted as labeling it “the Anglo blond, blue-eyed thing. It’s an offensive symbol.”
That remark and thinking denigrates all persons of that skin color and is as flagrant a discriminatory remark as I have had the displeasure to read or hear recently.
