ATLANTA — Scott Sisson kicked a 33-yard field goal on the final play and Jimy Lincoln ran for 229 yards and a touchdown as No. 17 Georgia Tech beat Virginia, 24-21, Thursday night.
Sisson, who knocked the Cavaliers out of the No. 1 ranking last year when he kicked a 37-yard field goal with seven seconds left in a 41-38 victory, ended a 58-yard drive after Virginia had tied the game.
Georgia Tech (2-1, 1-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference) won its 13th home game in a row. Virginia is 1-2 and 0-2.
