Birmingham 14, University 0--Larry Wilson rushed for 71 yards in six carries to lead the host Braves’ in their season opener.
Wilson broke open a tight game in the third quarter with a 55-yard dash down the right sideline before being tackled at the one. Wilson’s sprint set up a scoring run by Vince Lampkin one play later.
